When to go
The aurora is visible in Finnish Lapland during the dark months, roughly from late autumn to early spring. Clear skies and solar activity decide each night, so a stay of several nights gives nature more chances.
Where to stay
A private villa away from bright lights lets you step outside whenever the sky changes. In Levi, villas can be paired with a private guide who knows where to find darker skies.
Evenings worth having anyway
We plan each evening so it is memorable even under clouds: a wilderness dinner, a sauna, a quiet walk in the snow. The northern lights become a gift, not the only measure of the journey.
